How long will I need physical therapy?

This is dependent on many things, including severity, chronicity, and complicating factors. Once you have been seen a few visits and we can see how you respond to PT interventions, and then we have a better idea of how long you will need Physical Therapy.

What conditions does physical therapy treat?

We are primary care practitioners for the musculoskeletal system, so we treat any conditions related to the nervous and musculoskeletal systems and/or problems that may arise from these. For a list of most common commonly seen conditions, see our Services page.

Are there physical therapist specialists?

We all get the same base doctorate education in DPT school, which covers the entire body including musculoskeletal, circulatory, and nervous systems, and problems or disease that can affect it. Once done, we may choose to specialize in a certain area such as hand therapy, neuro, sports, or pediatrics. Continuing education can be taken in areas of interest to advance your expertise or you can become board specialized in several areas through the American Physical Therapy Association. Our specialty here is sports and orthopedics, so we take most of our continuing education on these topics, but we really need to know the entire body as anything can happen to the body when playing sports, so we must be able to treat any injury.

How do I know if my insurance covers physical therapy services?

Most insurance plans have a log in for consumers so you can search for your PT coverage within your dashboard, or you can call them directly. We also double check on our end so we may estimate deductible/co-insurance/co-pay amounts that may be due upon service. All insurance plans vary greatly, so it impossible for us to know each and every plan that is out there. It is recommended you know your plan benefits and limitations as it is ultimately your responsibility for any expenses that arise from PT services rendered at our office.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment(s)?

Calling is the primary and best way of making any schedule changes, this also will time and date stamp at the time you leave a voice mail in any instance we are unable to get to the phone. If you are not able to get to a phone, you may email but please note we do not check this as often as phone messages, so it may be delayed in getting to us and we really need a minimum of 24 hours to attempt to fill a vacant spot on the schedule. We require all cancellations be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance, and previous Friday for any Monday appointments. You will be charged a fee if you don’t cancel in this time frame or if you don’t show for a scheduled appointment.
